Mach-II, Transfer ORM, ColdSpring...wish me luck :)

Time for me to get out of my procedural programming techniques and jump into the 21st century. Time to get on the OO bandwagon.

For a project that I'm currently working on, it's going to be a trial by fire to absorb the contents of the blog title and be proficient...quickly!!

Kinda wish I was learning Model-Glue, but eh, either Mach-II or Model-Glue will turn my world upside down from the way I program sites now.

Scared, excited and up for the challenge!!!

Sam's Gravatar wish you all the best, MachII is cool, i did try but some xml syntax (controllers) did not feel right to me. As fusebox3 developer, I found ColdBox much simpler and quite easy for fuseboxers.

hay.... please keep posting your experiments, this will help many other to learn.

Jason Blum's Gravatar Hey good luck. Having recently made some progress myself in this journey, just would recommend you put aside transfer until you get your bearings with M2 and ColdSpring. Those two really go well together. Transfer is very cool - but it's a lot to bite off and, at least in my case, didn't deliver the early benefits of M2 and CS on the scale a beginner needs to stay motivated. It's all heady stuff I'd just recommending pacing yourself.
