SVN/CVS: Any good Commit Comment templates?

We're implementing SVN in our office and well, things are well under way.

However, people are going to start committing their changes in various ways. So reading commits from multiple developers (might) prove to be confusing.

I was playing around with SVN for eclipse and it's got a great feature called, "Commit Templates".

Being new, I created 2 templates for myself and was thinking about making Commit Templates a standard among the developers.

Here's what I made up so far:

Again, these are just for me. I was wondering if anyone else has any other templates that you use and like?

Thanks!

Jonathan's Gravatar Add issueid as an SVN attribute and force a valid issue management reference. Then add a hook to input the commit description into your issue management system. :)

Rich Rodecker's Gravatar In addition to all that, for the actual desriptions, I always itemize, and start each item with words like "Changed", "Updated", "Removed", "Refactored", etc. Helps in gettng straight to the point.

Project Management Templates's Gravatar Interesting comment about SVN not being able to handle complex code and release processes. I do sometimes hear this misperception, but nothing could be further from the truth. Many large enterprises trust their source code to SVN, and we are seeing more and more companies migrating away from the large commercial software packages to SVN. I think one of the strengths of SVN is that it is friendly enough for individual users, but robust enough to handle the most complex of enterprises.
