Coldfusion 9 vs latest iteration of Railo?

Does anyone know of any comparison sites out there that I can view?
Or does anyone know off the top of their head the pros/cons of each?

I know the big glaring PRO of Railo = FREE. But, I've always believed in, "you get what you pay for".

Thanks!

Shannon Hicks's Gravatar While I don't use Railo, I will point out that you *can* pay for support if you like.

Also, the current release of Railo does not yet support ORM like CF9 does, but I believe it's planned for for development as soon as the spec is finalized.

Todd Rafferty's Gravatar Railo does not have any of the built in ajax tags / functions. The community is building them. Some advanced image functions are missing ( ImageGetEXIFTag ). Railo does have PDF support and the core CFML is implemented. ORM and I think cfscript support is planned late this year. You can download the express version of Railo and check it out yourself, requires no installation.

Any other questions, let me know. I will warn that you should not make a rash decision and switch immediately without testing. You should investigate all your options first.

Admin's Gravatar @Todd: Thanks for the heads up. I really have no use for the ajax functions in CF. I prefer to roll my own with jQuery. Makes code portability easier :)

I'll have to take a look at the express install and try it out. Thanks!

Todd Rafferty's Gravatar Oh, I forgot to mention. Things like cfspreadsheet and cfexchange and all the sharepoint stuff isn't in Railo 3.1 either and honestly, I don't know where those fall.

John Gag's Gravatar Maybe by the time CF9 is actually released, not beta, the features like ORM and cfscript will be implemented.
